Amy Horn

I’m Amy, and this is MAY the magazine.
I grew up in Hamburg, Germany, and later made Groningen my home while studying Media Studies. In between, Ibiza became the backdrop of two unforgettable summers that shaped me more than I ever expected. Both places, so different from one another, taught me all the layers of freedom and continue to inspire the journey I’m on.
Along the way came first loves and first heartbreaks, friendships that lasted, first solo travels, and nights of dancing to music that still lingers within me.
Conscious and curious, my taste keeps shifting, but my passion develops. I enjoy discovering what I haven’t seen or known before. I write about what I’ve felt and perceived, who I’ve met, and what they’ve said.
The name MAY is a nod to my sister, Lynn May, and me, making it a deeply personal project.
This journal is for you, for me, and for anyone open to new viewpoints and stories. I’m far from professional, but this is my practice, my vision, my work from scratch.
I ask too many questions, follow curiosities, and notice the details that often slip by.
Most of all, I want to listen and retell your stories.
If you’re here, I hope you find a spark, a story, or simply a new angle to take with you.
